Feed Using the Feeding Schedule

1. Tap the feeding to mix.
2. Tap Start Mix at the bottom of the screen.
3. Load the first ingredient for the mix. As you load ingredients, the scale weighs the load and FeedComp calculates the percentage complete.
   IMPORTANT: If the mix amount for the feeding exceeds the capacity of the mixer, an over-capacity error is displayed. When this occurs, the feeding technician will not be able to start the mixing process for the feeding until the feed mix amount is within the capacity of the mixer.
   NOTE: If the weight of an ingredient detected by the scale drops below the threshold set for the mixer while mixing a recipe A combination of ingredients used to make feed for animals, FeedComp displays an alert that requires attention before adding the next ingredient to the mixer. To set the threshold, see Create New Equipment and Edit Equipment.

   Tap Skip to move the ingredient to the end of the order so you can return to it later. Or, tap Acknowledge to confirm and record the ingredient's actual amount and continue mixing. Acknowledged ingredients are identified with an ACK icon on the Feeding History Report.

4. If a timer was set for the ingredient, wait for the timer to complete. Or, tap Advance this Ingredient to move to the next step in the recipe.
5. If a time delay was set between ingredients, FeedComp displays a countdown in the middle of the screen for the allotted time. You can tap Skip to immediately move to the next ingredient in the recipe.
6. Once all of the ingredients are added and the progress bar reaches 100%, FeedComp automatically advances you to drop at the pen. Or, you can tap Start Dropping at the bottom of the screen.

   When you're ready to start dropping, the following options are available in FeedComp:

   • Tap Ignore to ignore this pen. When you ignore a pen, it is skipped and removed from the current order.
   • Tap the arrow to advance to the next pen.
   • Tap Skip to skip this pen. When you skip a pen, it is temporarily skipped and moved to the end of the order so you can return to it later.

7. Drop the mix at the first pen.
8. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, FeedComp automatically advances to the next pen. Or, you can tap Advance this Drop to manually move to the next pen. As you drop the mix, the scale weighs the load and FeedComp calculates the percentage complete.
9. Once all of the drops are complete and the progress bar reaches 100%, FeedComp automatically advances. Or, you can tap Continue at the bottom of the screen to advance manually. The feeding is now complete, and FeedComp compiles and presents your feeding summary.
10. Tap View Report Card at the bottom of the screen to view additional details for the ingredients dropped and pens fed for the feeding.
11. The completed feeding is removed from the Feeding Schedule screen. Now you can proceed with your next feeding! Repeat the steps above for all of the feedings listed in your dairy's feeding schedule.

A premix is the same as a scheduled feeding, except you'll select a load size instead of selecting pens. A premix isn't like a normal recipe mix that is dropped to a sequence of pens; instead, a premix is batched for use in other recipes A combination of ingredients used to make feed for animals. See Create New Recipe and Batch Feedings for more information.

Overnight loads optimize morning feeding routines by allowing feeding technicians to mix a feed recipe on the night before, pause the feeding and store the mix in the equipment overnight, and resume the feeding the next morning. This feature also allows feeding technicians to pause the loading sequence at any time while mixing a recipe and add the remaining ingredients that complete the recipe the next morning. Follow these steps to work with overnight loads:

1. Tap Overnight Load at the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap the feeding to mix.
3. Start loading the ingredients.
4. Tap Resume Tomorrow at the bottom of the screen to pause until tomorrow.
5. To resume the load, open the Feeding Schedule, select the overnight load that was paused, and resume.

After a feeding is complete and FeedComp compiles and presents your feeding summary, you can tap View Report Card at the bottom of the screen to view additional details for the ingredients dropped and pens fed. See Mix Scheduled Feedings to learn how!

During a feeding, FeedComp automatically advances to the next ingredient after the time allotted. However, you can tap Advance this Ingredient to move to the next step in the recipe anytime you are ready. See Mix Scheduled Feedings to learn how!
